Christine O'Donnell Shows Piers Morgan How to Fail at Politics (VIDEO)

Christine O'Donnell TroublemakerGood news Americans! There may be killer sharks in the water and dangerous toys getting recalled, but Congress is officially safe from witchcraft. Sarah Palin's buddy Christine O'Donnell, the Tea Party candidate who crashed and burned in her bid to fill Vice President Joe Biden's vacated Senate seat back in 2010, just killed her chances at ever trying again.

The Delaware Republican was supposed to be talking up her new book, Troublemaker: Let's Do What It Takes to Make America Great Again, when she stormed off the set of Piers Morgan Tonight, telling the show host that he was "rude." The book is both a memoir of the Senate run plagued by allegations (and jokes) that she dabbled in Wiccan ways and O'Donnell's shot at getting back into the national spotlight. She claims she hasn't ruled out another run at Congress. Now she doesn't have to.

Morgan says it wasn't the questions about witchcraft that sent O'Donnell packing, but him pushing her on gay marriage. In video released of the incident, O'Donnell insists that she wants to talk about the issues SHE wants to talk about, so how could Morgan's questions be pertinent?

Erm, perhaps because it's a national issue that Democrats and Republicans are still arguing over? One that she does mention in her book? And it was just this month that the Obama administration's decision to stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was called into question as the Australian half of a married gay couple from San Francisco was deported on the basis of DOMA.

Why should a woman who wants to run for Congress have to talk about that? Hmm ...

What O'Donnell thinks of gay marriage, frankly, doesn't matter. Her history on the subject is pretty clear -- as a member of SALT (Savior's Alliance for Lifting the Truth), she's been vocal in her support of conversion therapies to "turn" queers back to God-fearin' 'mericans. Considering a whole bunch of people just supported fellow ex-gay therapy advocate Michele Bachmann in the Ames Straw Poll, it wouldn't completely ruin her chances at the polls.

What does is her refusal to talk about it.

It's clear her attitude is one of "bury your head in the sand any time tough stuff crops up." That works fine for ostriches. Not for Congresswomen. Certainly not in the midst of the worst economic straits this country has seen in decades.

Watch the video of Christine O'Donnell melting down and tell us, would you elect someone to Congress who won't answer questions about national issues?
