Dad Should Have Killed 4-Year-Old Daughter's Molester

terence gibersonIt's a scenario none of us wants to imagine, but I'm going to ask you to imagine it anyway: What would you do if you found your 4-year-old daughter naked in the apartment of a 52-year-old man, who also happened to be naked? Imagine she'd been playing right outside your apartment with her friends just minutes before, then suddenly vanished ... when you went searching for her, you spotted her sippy cup abandoned in the grass outside your neighbor's apartment ... and then, in a horrible moment that made your blood run cold, you looked up and saw her banging on the window from the inside of the apartment, naked, calling for you.

If you're like me, right about now you're trying to decide whether it would be more time-efficient to grab a steak knife from the creep's kitchen and stab him repeatedly or just strangle him with your bare hands in a surge of adrenaline-powered fury.

The Southern California dad who actually went through this horrifying experience certainly would have been justified in doing either of those things, plus a bunch more I can think of.

He did not in fact maim and/or kill the guy, whose name is Terence Giberson. Instead, the father busted into the man's apartment (go, dad!), picked up his little girl, and ran to call the cops.

So, I have to give credit where credit is due: This dad totally rocks for rescuing his little girl from the clutches of a pedophile. I'm not criticizing his actions at all.

But I am going to go ahead and criticize Carl Baker, the officer from the Redlands Police Department, who praised the dad for using "restraint":

"He did what he needed to do to help his daughter and let the police do their job."

YES he did what he needed to do, but if he HAD gone ape-sh*t and ripped Giberson's head off, that would have been just fine!! Do you hear me? It would have been perfectly acceptable. Admirable behavior, even.

Apparently it's a good thing that the police got to have an hour-long standoff with Giberson, during which time he tried to kill himself (so now he's on suicide watch, poor baby. Yeah, god forbid we lose that one). Um ... why?? Why should Terence Giberson be protected under the law in any way? I know, I know, innocent until proven guilty, blah blah blah, vigilante justice doesn't solve anything, wah wah wah.

Screw that. This father would have been completely justified in killing his daughter's molester.

What would you have done if you were the father who found his little girl in Terence Giberson's apartment?
