'Hiccup Girl' Jennifer Mee Snaps, Arrested for Murder

hiccup girl commits murderJennifer Mee, the Tampa Bay girl who had the hiccups non-stop for months, is in the news for a much more horrific reason today: Along with two other young men, Mee has been arrested for armed robbery and murder following the fatal shooting of a man on Saturday night.

Mee, 19, admits to being part of the plot where she lured the man to an address where her two counterparts, Laron Raiford, 20, and Lamont Newton, 22 planned on robbing him at gunpoint. How it went awry is unclear, but the man died after being shot three times in the chest, and once in the shoulder.

Could having the hiccups for months have driven Mee to madness?

Constant pain, irritation or sleep-deprivation can make people do crazy things, but Mee finally overcame her hiccup problem in 2007 after a media tour that included the TODAY Show. Unless she's had a recurrence, I would think the aggravation from her condition would have dissipated by now.

Furthermore, I can think of a lot of other ailments that would make someone snap, some of which have personally driven me crazy -- and would be much worse than hiccups:

"Hiccup Girl" is going to have a lot more things to worry about than a physical annoyance as she's tried for murder in Florida. I'm sure she'll be on the TODAY Show again, but this time as the perpetrator, not a victim.

Do you think the two things are connected?
