Slave-Keeping Dean Cecilia Chang, It's Payback Time!

St. John'sAs the dean of East Asian Studies at St. John's University in Queens, New York, Cecilia Chang couldn't have done a more terrible job.

First, she was accused of embezzling about $1 million from the school. She used the money to pay for lingerie, trips to casinos, and her son's tuition.

Well, if you think that's bad, on Thursday she was charged with forcing students to be her servants in order to keep their scholarships.

Says The Huffington Post:

Told that they must work for the university in order to maintain their scholarships, students were surprised to find themselves at Chang's beck and call. According to the New York Post, in a letter of complaint to the university, one student wrote, "[Chang] let me be the housekeeper for her house and give me scholarship ... she ask us work 122 days per year per person."

She's been charged with forced labor and bribery, asking her students to do household tasks like shoveling snow and taking out the garbage, deliver money while she was gambling, drive her son around, and even falsify documents.

Her bail is set at $1.5 million and she could face up to 10 years in jail if found guilty.

Okay, so we all know that this crime is totally and utterly wrong; she abused her power and took advantage of these poor students, and she should get the maximum punishment.

But, just for some politically incorrect fun, here are 10 things these students could make Cecilia (and her son, who seems to have gotten a lot of perks out of this arrangement) do in order to get some payback:

  1. Be the designated driver every weekend (and sometimes on Thursdays)
  2. Do all of their papers/homework/tests while maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA
  3. Stay up until 4 a.m. to encourage or discourage students affected by beer goggles after late-night partying
  4. Be on call to run to the nearest taco stand, deli, or pizza joint 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  5. Go through all of the hazing rituals if the students want to join a fraternity/sorority
  6. Write them glowing recommendations no matter how terribly they've done in school (although, with rule #2, that shouldn't be the case)
  7. Cook homemade meals every day -- good-bye Easy Mac!
  8. Pay for their airplane tickets for every holiday when they go back to see their families
  9. Clean their dorm rooms once a week (imagine what a terrible job that'd be)
  10. Have her take the beatings/harassment most freshmen are accustomed to getting

Think that's sufficient punishment?

I know my college experience would be a dream if I had someone like Cecilia to be my servant! What goes around comes around, right?

What do you think of a dean forcing students to act like slaves? What would you make her do?
