Thanks to the internet gods, we've seen our fair share of hilarious after-school pick-up videos over the years. Earlier this month, a teen went viral for dressing up in different costumes every day for a week, just to embarrass his little brother when he got off the bus. Now, one funny mom is going viral too, for dressing up in a pink unicorn costume and greeting her daughter after her first day of school.

  • Somer Scandridge admits she's kind of a "big kid" at heart, who likes to have fun.

In fact, the Spring, Texas, mom has a Halloween tradition with their family that she gets excited for every year -- and so do her kids. Each  year, her 4-year-old son, Hudson, matches costumes with her husband, while Somer matches costumes with their 6-year-old daughter, Madison.

They get in on the fun early, which is why Somer already sent away for Madison's costume of choice: a big pink unicorn.

So when it arrived in the mail last week on Madison's first day of school, her mom thought it was the perfect chance to surprise her when she got off the bus.

  • And boy, WAS it ...

When Madison skipped off the bus, she got a huge kick out of seeing her mom in their joint costume, and she ran toward her for a big hug.

Luckily, the whole thing was caught on video and later shared on Facebook, where Somer captioned the post: "When your daughter is young enough to think you’re still cool and not embarrassing."

(Yep -- it's a pretty small window of time.)

  • Madison wasn't the only one to get a kick out of the adorable surprise. As the video makes its way around Facebook, people can't stop cracking up.

"I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this!" one person wrote. "Next time, call me! I’ll bring big bird and join you."

"Omg you’re the best mom ever!!" someone else added. "Look how excited she is!! I bet all the kids on the bus were so envious!"

"Why do you have to make the rest of us look so bad?" joked someone else. "Lol ... LOVE THIS!!"

For the Scandridge family, though, this is all just par for the course.

"We're a super close family and do a lot of stuff together," Somer told KTRK. "I'm the mom who's a big kid at heart, so [my daughter] wasn't at all surprised that I dressed up and ran out to the bus to get her."

Surprised or not, I'm guessing she's even more psyched for Halloween this year, now that their joint costume has gone viral. And who could blame her?
