For the most part, child Internet personalities and social media stars are pretty enjoyable. They tend to be cute, funny, a little sassy, and pretty inoffensive to the general population. But one young girl has gained massive attention online by being the exact opposite. Known only as "Lil Tay," the 9-year-old Instagram star is no stranger to vulgar language and large displays of "wealth." But after her antics got her mom fired from her job, most people are wondering if the kid, her mom, and the social media "act" have finally gone too far.

  • Lil Tay's rise to Instagram stardom began in February of this year because of her seemingly extravagant lifestyle.

Although she claims to only be 9 years old, some question her age thanks to Instagram photos constantly showing her holding up huge wads of cash, posing with expensive cars, and wearing designer clothes.

  • But her status as a "rich girl" isn't the only thing that's caught people's attention -- she's also got an incredibly foul mouth.

The kid calls herself the "youngest flexer of the century" and has no problem making fun of people online -- whom she claims are just "jealous" and "broke." "This sh*t cost me two hundred thousand," she said in one Instagram video. "I'm only 9 years old, I ain't got no license but I still drive this sports car, bit*h. Your favorite rapper ain't even doing it like Lil Tay."

Lil Tay's burst of fame has brought about collaborations with multiple rappers and fellow Internet celebrities like Jake Paul. For the most part, people seem to be watching the 9-year-old's antics with either morbid curiosity or outright hate. The comments on her Instagram videos are filled with people calling her "fake," "spoiled," and "ignorant."

  • But a recent report claimed that Lil Tay's social media presence not only is fake, but has also cost her mom her job.

Vice reported that Lil Tay's mom, Angela Tian, worked as a real estate agent at Pacific West Realty in Vancouver, Canada, until drama surrounding her child's videos got her fired.

In an interview with Global News, Tian's former boss David Yang revealed that the woman tried to pass off his Mercedes Benz 500 SL as her daughter's without his permission in one of Lil Tay's videos. Yang said that the mom asked him if her daughter and son could take photos with his car, but didn't reveal the reason behind it -- and he didn't find out until someone told him about the viral video. "I didn't realize she was filming for Instagram," he said.

Global News also reports that Tian allowed her daughter to "flaunt her riches" in a luxury apartment that was being listed for sale by a work colleague. Although Yang told Global News that Tian resigned on her own, Jim Lew, director of business development for Pacific Place Group, told Daily Hive that she was officially fired by the company. "When we found out about this activity last week we had to dismiss her," Lew said.

  • After news about Tian's job status went viral, people were quick to blame Lil Tay.

People think the 9-year-old went way too far with her bad behavior and foul language. "Nice job on getting your mom fired," wrote one Instagram user.

  • But many others are completely blaming Mom for setting it up and "allowing" her girl to act that way.

"Adults need to raise their children better. That would not pass with me if I was her momma," one user wrote.

"Your parents clearly need to correct your little spoiled attitude," another person commented.

  • A few said they actually feel sorry for Lil Tay.

While not many expressed sympathy for the little girl's situation, those who did think that her online behavior will only come back to haunt her later in life.

  • But instead of judging, some are opting to celebrate Lil Tay's spirit and the confident girl Tian has raised.

But let's be real -- seeing a kid act the way Lil Tay acts is shocking, to say the least, but even more so when you consider the fact that at least one of her parents is probably behind this horror show. Whether Angela Tian was pushed to resign or was outright fired, she still lost her job over her daughter's Internet presence and her role in allowing it to flourish. Although we also aren't judging, it's probably best for whoever is behind Lil Tay's camera to think less about her Instagram followers, and more about her future.
