A furious mom is speaking out after her daughter's head was shaved at school -- without her permission. According to Denise Robinson, her 7-year-old girl, Tru, is now nearly bald because someone at Little Heroes Group Home decided to cut off all of her hair without contacting the Massachusetts mom for consent before "assaulting" her daughter -- the day before picture day.

According to Denise, Tru lives part-time at the intensive residential program for children with emotional and behavior challenges. When Tru came home after a few days away from the family, her hair was drastically different than how it was when her mom dropped her off, and Denise believes that the shave was racially motivated.

"I never claim racism, but this is some racist sh*t! I know my daughter is beautiful with or without hair, but this whole head shaving business ain't right," Denise commented on Facebook. "None of the other girls got their heads shaved."

Denise commented that she asked the school nurse if there was an issue with lice or if she had anything in her hair that made the buzz cut necessary. However, Denise learned that they simply asked her child if she wanted her hair chopped off and the 7-year-old consented.

In a statement to WCVB, Little Heroes said that the haircut was part of a hygiene program and it was necessary to deal with grooming issues. "Decisions regarding grooming are based on a variety of factors, including hygiene," the group home said. "A review of the circumstances is underway to determine what occurred and, if necessary, appropriate action will be taken."

Although Little Heroes added that it couldn't provide any information about individuals in the program because of federal and state law, it did say that it has a right to shave the kids' heads at any time if the matter qualifies under the hygiene program. Denise finds this simply unacceptable. "There was no hygienically reason to shave my child's head. No lice, no bed bugs, no rasta locks," Denise said.

Denise shared before-and-after photos on social media to show her girl's long hair before a clinician at the program took Tru to a salon and had a volunteer shave her head. "The volunteer informed this 7-year-old biracial child that by shaving her head, her hair would grow back straight," Denise's attorney, Richard Kendell, told CBS Boston. "I find that appalling."
