Moms and dads often look to canned meals as a saving grace whenever they're in a jam. After all, what kid doesn't love a little spaghetti and meatballs or canned ravioli? That's why news that the company that makes Chef Boyardee is recalling over 700,000 pounds of products due to mislabeling is extremely alarming -- especially to families with kids who have a food allergy.

Conagra Brands, Inc., is voluntarily recalling 700,125 pounds of spaghetti and meatballs nationwide due to "an undeclared allergen of milk in the products," the US Department of Agriculture notes. The company received notice June 6 from a supplier that bread crumbs used in some of the products might contain milk.

Thankfully, there have been no confirmed incidents of consumers suffering from an allergic reaction, though the USDA notes this Class I recall as "a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death."

Yikes.
