Parents of small children will tell you that when a kid has go to "wee-wee," said kid is going to go wee-wee. While most moms and dads would try to make a mad dash to the nearest john -- faster than Usain Bolt on a good day -- some parents clearly aren't bothered by location or lack of privacy when it comes to their child's tinkling. This photo of a mom allowing her son to pee in a cup at a restaurant has turned heads -- and just might make you question if you've been doing parenting all wrong.

As a mother of 3- and almost 2-year-old boys -- who enjoy the piss-and-go life -- I must say the thought of letting one of my kids pee in a soda cup next to my table at a family restaurant in a busy food court has never crossed my mind.

... But I guess this is a thing?

Can you imagine enjoying your meal, scanning the surrounding area, and seeing this? LOL?

People have been taking to social media to express their opinions about this mom allowing her little boy to pee so openly at some kind of upscale food court in Russia, and, surprisingly, the conversation has been a mix of disdain and understanding -- which only proves to me there are apparently many gray areas in the land of parenting.

If I was present to witness this boy peeing with his pants down and private parts exposed for all to see, it would take everything in me not to stand in front of him to make sure no one would watch. As much as I definitely understand the struggles of potty training, and how quickly little kids feel the urge to use the bathroom, I just can't imagine myself whipping out my cup in plain view of everyone so one of my boys can pee.

... However, with that said, I do get it.

My mom (she's gonna kill me) is notorious for keeping a cup in the car during a lengthy road trip in the event there's no restroom for miles. How she and my sister are able to urinate in a cup like that -- and still be discreet about it -- is beyond me, but it works. (They've perfected the art so much that peeing in a cup is now the go-to practice.)

I'm not advocating for all of us to pee (and possibly poo) in random cups ... but, sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do. Obviously, the end goal should always be some sort of bathroom facility with a toilet that hopefully flushes, but I guess it's good to have a backup plan in the event that option A isn't available.

Still, this is kinda out there, but it could be the start of a new trend -- or maybe a hack we'll see on Pinterest? (*Kanye shrug*)
