Most parents have a basic idea about what's expected at a child's birthday party: Cake. Balloons. Gifts. While this is pretty common fare on a parent's "party planning for kids" cheat sheet (kidding, there's no such thing), one thing that doesn't come standard is the ability to think outside the box. Rebecca is a Missouri mom who hosted a poop-inspired birthday party for her daughter that truly is the sh*t in such an awesome way.
After speaking with her daughter Audrey on numerous occasions about her upcoming birthday, this mom quickly realized there was just no way she was going to get around every kid's favorite thing to talk about: poo. As unconventional as that birthday party theme may be, Rebecca's sweet girl wanted to celebrate her third birthday with "poop," and that's exactly what she got.

Decking out her St. Louis home with poop-inspired items -- like a poop emoji piñata and matching balloons -- Rebecca and her husband gave little Audrey a birthday party she'll never forget. The party actually took place in October, but the amazing photos are just now going viral.
We have to admit, those rainbow turds look magical!
Heck, Rebecca even donned a poop emoji costume for the festivities, which earns her the biggest gold star we can find.
What a cute mother-daughter moment!

There were even fun games, like "Pin the poop in the toilet," where guests were challenged to put turds inside the potty blindfolded.

... And whoopee cushion party favors to help everyone remember the occasion.
I can only imagine the amount of fun Audrey had at her poop-themed birthday party, and how overjoyed she was to get the party of her dreams.
"[Audrey] was THRILLED!" Rebecca tells CafeMom. "I will never forget how excited she was when she came down the stairs and saw everything. To see how happy she was, was totally worth whatever embarrassment I felt wearing a poop costume."

Outside of using the poop emoji on the regular, I give this mama props for making the decision to give her little girl the party she wanted -- no matter how much "poop" was involved.
"The feedback from our friends and family has been incredible," Rebecca adds. "The way everyone embraced it just reconfirmed how lucky we are to have such awesome people around us."

Having two kiddos myself (my boys are 3 and 1½), I must say this party idea is veryyy different, but veryyy creative! It's definitely something unexpected, and I give this mom props for making the decision to listen to her little girl instead of succumbing to pressures to host a different kind of party just for the sake of fitting in.
As Rebecca tells the Huffington Post, "I feel like in this time of Facebook and Pinterest, we sometimes get caught up in trying to impress other adults. This party wasn't for me, it was for Audrey. I love that we will look back at pictures, and it will represent her at 3 -- my funny and quirky little girl."
Amen to that!
What a fun party idea for a special girl. Thanks, Rebecca, for the inspo. I just may have to use this as a potential party idea for my youngest. (It could be a great tie-in to potty training!)
