When a 12-year-old girl posted racy pictures of herself on Facebook, her mom Helen Bartlett didn't like it very much. In fact, Bartlett didn't like it so much that she beat the girl with a strap. But she didn't just give her daughter a whipping, the mom videotaped the beating, which lasted about 6 minutes. And then she put it on Facebook.

The video has not only gone viral, it's sparked a debate about corporal punishment. Many viewers of the video support the mom's actions, while others are appalled and consider the beating child abuse.

But during a radio interview, Bartlett said she has no regrets and is "prepared to go to jail" to set her "problem child" on the right path.

She says she beat her daughter because she had posted photos of herself in underwear on Facebook and was sexting with a boy. She wants to keep her daughter on the straight and narrow, prevent her from getting pregnant, and keep her off the streets.

A few days after this video went up, the 12-year-old girl and her older sister put up their own video, in which they defended their mom. They said she was a good mother who just wanted to protect them. The 12-year-old said she knows her mother loves her and she reassured viewers that has no intention of killing herself.

She hasn't, however, been back to school since the video of the beating went viral and her mom says she fears being made fun of and getting bullied. (Better to stay home and be "safe" with mom??)

In her video, the 12-year-old said, "I am very sorry for bringing shame on you and the family. I know you love me dearly. And I love you dearly, too." She then urged other kids her age to watch the video of her being beaten so they could "learn" from it.

What do you think about this mom posting a video of her beating her daughter on Facebook?
