Mom Stays Incredibly Calm in Amazing Home Water Birth Video

water drops on a pregnant belly

While most of us know the labor and delivery basics (there's pain, likely some hollering, and more pain before baby comes), some things you truly need to see to believe. If ever you thought about welcoming your precious bundle of joy at home, please take a look at midwife Lisa Marie Sanchez Oxenham's incredible home water birth video that truly captures the miracle of life.

The Sacred Journey Midwifery owner captured video of her client Audra's second birthing experience at home. There's stillness, anticipation, and all the feels expectant mothers have as they transition from in-waiting to new mom.

Take a look.

Doesn't Mom look so calm and focused in the video?

As Lisa Marie says in her now viral Facebook post (10 million views and counting), "A midwife's role is fluid, providing whatever is necessary for each individual birthing experience, although almost always that role is simply to offer the gift of quiet."

I am unashamed to say I watched this video more than once. There's something about this footage that makes me reflect on my birthing experiences -- and question whether or not I want to give the non-hospital route a try.

(I'm still on the fence about home water births, because I'm the dork who thinks about all that liquid spilling.)

Audra's home birth made me relive the moments I welcomed my sons into this world ... without the pain, of course. No matter the discomfort I was feeling at the time, in the end, it was all worth it.

As unconventional as viewing someone delivering a baby on social media is, it's a beautiful reminder of life and how awesome the female body can be.

Thanks for sharing, Lisa Marie.
