With all the kids home during the summer, Mom might be trying her very best, but not everything turns out perfectly. Even though we're only one month into summer, plenty of moms have already experienced some hilarious summer fails.

(And a surprising number of involve sunscreen.) If you feel like your summer break has been anything but a vacation, you're not alone!

That's a Lot of Dough

This sounds like a #foodfail but we've definitely been there too. This mom will probably keep a close eye on her loaf-loving little one for the rest of the summer!

Baby Binge-Watcher

Extreme TV viewing isn't just for grown-ups! Give these kids a remote and they'll have those series rolling from one end of the day to the next. Just make sure they're kid-friendly programs. No Real Housewives for the tikes!

Sunscreen Fail

Nothing like white stripes on a black bathing suit or Capri pants to make you look like a dope. If it makes this mom feel better, she's not alone. Plenty of us have #sunscreenfails. Just keep reading.

City Slickers

Hey, at least they're inquisitive and preparing for a shark attack, right? Maybe they'll see some tadpoles and that will put their minds at ease.

Another Sunscreen Fail

The sun is blazing, the kids are sweating, and you'd swear that you put the sunscreen in your bag -- but where is it now?! Chances are you'll find a fellow mom who's willing to lend you a little lotion to get you through!

Splinter City

You want to feel light and cool but there's nothing fun about walking around on a sandal full of wood chips. It's best to remember those sneakers before you're bringing home splinters as unwanted playground souvenirs.

Side Trip to the Ortho

As lovely as he or she might be, the orthodontist is not the first person on the list of people you'd like to visit in the summer. Let's hope this little accident is a one-off and not the first of many summer mishaps.

Third Sunscreen Fail

Ouch! This is so painful and it takes hours to clear up. If there's one saving grace, it's better for Mom to quietly endure this torture than for a baby or toddler to have to deal with it. Sorry, Mom, but you know it's true.

The One That (Almost) Got Away

Yikes! This would be hilarious if it didn't make us cringe. Little guys are as slippery as eels -- especially at the beach. You practically feel this mom's heart pounding through the picture, can't you? Let's hope the sand provided a soft landing!

Shorts & Climbing Tots Don't Mix

Oh, this poor little guy. Next time, we're sure this mom will bust out his full-length jeans regardless of the weather. If anything, he should sleep well at night after all that outdoor activity.

Pirate's Booty Mishap

A little snack is perfect. A big snack is often a recipe for a big mess! Hey, it's hard to contain your excitement when someone gives you a big bag of Pirate's Booty, right?

Devices Down!

Getting a teen or tween outdoors (or even out of bed before noon) is more challenging than learning to water ski -- especially when they've got devices in hand and friends online. We wish Mom good luck!
