No mother should ever have to experience this. An unnamed man verbally attacked new mom Jessie Maher inside a Connecticut Target cafe one morning for breastfeeding her baby. After being told she was "f***ing disgusting" numerous times, Jessie felt helpless as the man came closer and closer to her (and her baby). Thankfully, Good Samaritans defended this breastfeeding mother in a way that will bring tears to your eyes.

"Because I'm feeding my baby, this man is going crazy -- and I'm shaking."

As she was being verbally assaulted, Jessie decided to pull out her phone and record the incident -- including the wonderful mommies and Target employees who came to her rescue.

Anybody know this asshole who verbally assaulted me in target this morning while I was breastfeeding my baby? (He's...

"You are f***ing disgusting ... you are f***ing disgusting ... you are f***ing disgusting ... you whore."

Target has a breastfeeding policy in place that fully supports any and all moms who choose to do so. As stated:

Target's policy supports breastfeeding in any area of our stores, including our fitting rooms, even if others are waiting.

If you see a woman breastfeeding in our stores, do not approach her.

(Yup, angry dude, you were wrong -- and then wrong again.)

When I saw this video, there was something inside of me that wanted to do ... something. I don't know this man in the video, or what inspired him to take the time to verbally assault this mother. Maybe he was having a bad day. Maybe he has some horrible connection to public breastfeeding that triggers such a negative reaction.

We'll never know.

But what we do know is that there are good people, caring people who make it their business to come to the defense of someone in a situation. As a former breastfeeding mother, I can't even imagine being in a situation like this, what I would do, and how I would react with my baby so close. I'm sure Jessie felt helpless and stuck, seeing as she was nursing her child in the middle of a cafe.

Regardless of your stance on public breastfeeding, you can't help but get emotional at the sight of such kindness. To see mothers stand around Jessie -- along with the male Target employees who became a physical barrier should this man decide to go toward this mom and her baby -- is what it's all about.

Let this video be a reminder to be compassionate toward others and keep it moving should you disagree with a person's actions. With all that's happening in our world (our country) right now, the sight of a mother breastfeeding her baby should be the last thing to cause such an uproar.
