Mom Breastfeeds 3-Year-Old While Pole Dancing (VIDEO)

Ashley Wright is a mom who breastfeeds while pole dancing

Just because you're a mother doesn't mean you can't enjoy or do things you once did in the past. In fact, you might discover new and engaging ways to incorporate your LO. Ashley Wright is a California native who inspires so many with her amazing ability to breastfeed while pole dancing.

Yes, you read correctly: breastfeeding while pole dancing. I know the concept might sound extremely unorthodox to many, but it's still pretty amazing to see.

In fact, you might want to peep at Ashley Wright's Instagram, which is full of photos and videos that will make you do a double-take.

Ashley began her journey into the aerial arts eight years ago. Her daughter Shannon, now 3, came along for the ride in utero (yes, Ashley stayed fit on the pole while pregnant!), and then again when she was about 1 year old.

More from The Stir: Pole Dancing Is a Sport, Not a Sex Act

I'm in awe of Ashley's pole talents -- and that's not because I happen to have one in my home (oh yes, I too enjoy pole fitness). I applaud moms who are able to get back to the hobbies and passions they love, postpartum. Of course, baby is going to require the majority of your attention, but that doesn't mean you can't have a few mommy-and-me opportunities.

As Ashley explains, she waited until her daughter Shannon was a certain age before she started climbing up the pole with her. And if you've never taken a pole dancing class, you probably don't know the amount of strength you need to control your momentum -- including balance.

Now add a tot into the mix. That's pretty crazy (cool), right?

Wowzers!

Now, I haven't thought about hopping on the pole with either of my little ones, let alone trying to breastfeed my youngest in the process. And for that, Ashley, I bow down to you, mama. I've seen mommies who nurse their babies while doing yoga, but this right here takes things to new heights -- literally.

At least to me, I could understand concerns if Ashley was trying some "death-defying" trick with her daughter. But she's not. So even if you don't understand it, or don't agree, just keep calm and carry on with life.

Hopefully this will inspire more moms to embrace the beauty of both motherhood and breastfeeding (should they want to, and are able to do it). And at the very least, it definitely shows you can think outside the box when it comes to bonding with your baby.
