New Year's Eve Countdown for Kids Makes 'Netflix & Sleep' a Reality (VIDEO)

Each year, tons of people gather across the globe to ring in the New Year. It's an age-old tradition, full of tasty bites, a cocktail or two, cheers, and that infamous kiss. Well, all of that's great, but if you're a parent, you might not want your child staying up too late -- and that's okay. In fact, Netflix has a fun New Year's Eve countdown for kids that will give them the chance to celebrate before the stroke of midnight.

Did someone say Neflix and sleep?

That's not a terrible idea.

A new survey from Netflix reveals that 9 p.m. just might be the new midnight ... for kids, that is. Close to half of the parents surveyed in the US are all for celebrating the 10-second countdown a few hours early. In fact, about 41 percent of moms and dads have no problem getting their New Years on a little early, so the kiddos can go to bed.

To help end the night early (but with a bang), Netflix created festive New Year's Eve countdowns for children to enjoy. Featuring beloved characters -- including Care Bears & Cousins, Puffin Rock, King Julien, Inspector Gadget, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and Project Mc2 -- little ones can have their holiday and sleep too.

Something like this seems like a fun item for parents to keep in queue. Whether you allow your children to stay up late or not, at least there's a cute New Year's Eve celebration created just for them. Come to think of it, having a countdown on standby can be great for kids getting sleepy who don't want to miss out on the action. At least that's one battle you don't have to fight in the morning.

I can dig it.
