Dad Turns Home into Prison to Teach 3-Year-Old Daughter a Lesson (PHOTO)

Jail Cell
If your child was acting up, how far would you go to teach him or her a lesson? One Corpus Christi dad was tired of his little girl's disrespecting him and his wife, so he decided to try something different. Juliáno Parker has come under heavy Internet scrutiny for making his 3-year-old daughter an "inmate" as punishment, and turning their home into jail.

Juliáno felt like he ran out of options with his daughter, Aubrey'Ella. Between the back talk and public scenes of disrespect, this dad wanted to do something more than spank his child -- which, according to him, didn't work with Aubrey'Ella.

That's when the idea of transforming his apartment into a prison came to mind.

Dressing Aubrey'Ella in an orange "inmate" T-shirt, Juliáno had his 3-year-old eat meat and potatoes (Aubrey'Ella drank water only -- which is great, but likely punishment for a kid), sleep on a mattress, and have dish duty. Juliáno even made her take a series of mug shots to make the experience more real.

As you might've guessed, this didn't go well ... at all.

Juliáno posted the photos with the following caption:

My daughter Aubrey'Ella has been fighting with my wife and I, disrespecting us in public, not listening and talking back a lot. Spankings don't work no more. My daughter is used to spanking and nowadays you can't spank kids how they did back in the day [because] they call that abuse.

So today I told my daughter since you wanna be a bad girl, let me show you where the bad kids go. I turned my apartment into a jail. I took away her clothes, now she gets to wear my orange shirt.

Since posting images of his daughter on social media, Juliáno has taken them down, but not before receiving major backlash from parents who thought his punishment was both cruel and unusual. Juliáno has issued an apology on Facebook saying he regretted his decision, and he recently shared that Child Protective Services came to his house after hearing about the event.

I really regert posting that pic of my daughter on social media like that I admit it was wrong didn't think it was gonna...

When I first heard about this, I thought to myself, Oh boy, this isn't going to be good. Look, kids definitely test our patience and turn it into some battle of willpower at high noon. I get it, but I don't think this was the most appropriate form of punishment for a 3-year-old.

More from The Stir: Spanking Isn't the Only Form of Physical Punishment That Should Be Banned

I would hate for this little girl to be removed from her family because of this. Yes, it wasn't the best idea (I'm trying to be nice here), and it definitely didn't need to go on social media -- but I don't think this should be treated in the same manner as someone who starves his or her kid, or does some other horrifying action that forces CPS to respond. As crazy as a punishment like this might be to many, I think Juliáno wasn't trying to be evil, and genuinely feels bad about the error of his ways.

Parents don't always get it right, but thankfully, there's always room for improvement.
