7-Year-Old Finds $8,000 on Playground Slide & Turns It In to the Police (VIDEO)

You don't always need to be in a classroom in order to learn a lesson. Aiden Wright had no clue that an ordinary trip to the playground with his uncle would provide an opportunity to show his integrity. This 7-year-old turned in a checkbook with $8,000 cash and deserves praise for doing the right thing.

Kudos to this little boy for taking the money to his uncle, Danny Wright, who quickly made the decision to turn it into the police. What's crazy is that the owner had no idea he lost his belongings until the cops called him. Elias Santos was probably on cloud nine, as he had just gotten paid (who doesn't do the happy dance?) and had taken his kids to play on the playground for a little fun. He certainly would've had the surprise of his life once he noticed his money was missing.

I'm so happy this story had a good ending, as it could've gone the other way -- especially if Aiden's uncle decided not to take the money to the police. Needless to say, this was a wonderful lesson for this 7-year-old to learn that he can take with him in life. Children tend to follow the examples they see. I know it does sound cliché, but actions do speak louder than words.

Is anyone else a fan of "The more you know" moments you can have with kids? Rather than just turn in the money to the police, Danny Wright used the opportunity to really drive the concept of integrity home to his nephew Aiden. Growing up, I can remember finding things and giving them back to people. My mother always said, "What you do in the dark always comes to light."

In life, we should always treat people the way we want to be treated.
