Girl Sent Home for Her 'Violent' Wonder Woman Lunch Box (PHOTOS)

lunchboxIn yet another story that will make you wonder if people have altogether lost their minds, a little girl was sent home from school because her Wonder Woman lunchbox violated the dress code for its "violent" imagery. And the note that was sent along with her makes no sense at all!

Reddit user twines18 posted pictures of the lunchbox and the accompanying note, where commenters tried (and failed) to figure out what in the world the school was thinking. The note (which you can read in its entirety below) claims that the lunchbox, which features Wonder Woman holding her Lasso of Truth, is a violation because:

The dress code we have established requests that children not bring violent images into the building in any fashion ... We have defined 'violent characters' as those who solve problems using violence.

Super heroes fall into that category. Your cooperation with our dress code will be appreciated.

Okay, except Wonder Woman doesn't strangle people with her Lasso of Truth -- she uses it to make people TELL THE FREAKIN' TRUTH. Wonder Woman is probably the least violent of all superheroes. Not that I would even define Batman or Superman as "violent characters" -- are these people kidding?? I mean, at least those characters are generally fighting the good fight.

Sure, it's a lovely fantasy to think that kids will start bringing lunchboxes with the Dalai Lama and Gandhi on them to school, but until the Dalai Lama gets himself a cool superhero outfit, that probably ain't gonna happen. Where, oh where is the common sense? Not at the school that sent home a kid with this completely innocuous lunchbox, that's for sure (click through to see the lunchbox):

Seriously?? I'm not sure how I would respond to this if it happened to my kid. I'd probably request a meeting with the principal, for one thing, and have a huge conversation with my kid about how sometimes authority figures don't know what the hell they're talking about, but beyond that? This kind of bureaucratic nonsense is tough to fight, and it's everywhere, unfortunately.

I'm guessing this little girl won't get to wear her Wonder Woman costume to school on Halloween, either.
