Mom Claims Her Facebook Was Hacked After She Tried to Sell Her Daughter for $200

It's not every day that you hear about a parent trying to give away their kid on social media. Apparently, that just might be the case as an unnamed New Mexico mom tried to sell her teenage daughter on Facebook -- which left many of us concerned and full of questions.

She apparently was unaware of the post in a Facebook group that featured an image of her daughter with the caption,"My daughter. $200."

Talk about crazy!

Her daughter who appeared in the post claims her mother's Facebook account was hacked.

Human trafficking is a big deal and no joking matter. There are close to 21 million victims of modern-day slavery, and almost 2 million are here in North America. It's very scary to think there are people in our communities who are caught up in this.

I don't know who thought it would be funny to list a teen for sale, but it's really no joking matter at all. Sure kids make us crazy and want to pull our hair out, but when an Internet task force gets involved, you know this is serious.

Call me a prude all you want, but I just can't wrap my head around this one. Even if it was a joke, why the heck would you post something like this for all to see? This type of foolishness right here is what lands people in prison or gets their kids taken away. I won't even comment on the $200 part.

Hopefully this mom's Facebook account was truly hacked, as the joke might end up being on her.
