Toddler Reunites With the Police Officer Who Delivered Her for Epically Adorable Tea Party
A chaotic delivery has lead to the unlikeliest of friendships, as captured in a series of pictures by photographer Cyndi Williams. The images show the one-year celebration of the day that Deputy Constable Mark Diebold helped deliver little Evelyn Hall at a gas station when it became clear that her mother was not going to make it to the hospital.
It all started on July 18, 2016, when parents-to-be Destiny and Caleb Hall left for the hospital in the wee hours of the morning.
They were flagged down by Officer Diebold in Granbury, Texas, who kindly offered to escort them to the hospital. But, before they could get there, Destiny realized that her baby was coming more quickly than expected.
"We were about halfway there, my water broke, and I could tell I definitely wasn't going to make it," Destiny told the Huffington Post.
Destiny ended up delivering her baby, Evelyn Joy Debora, in a gas station parking lot. Officer Diebold, who assisted in the delivery, was there by her side every step of the way.
Destiny told the Huffington Post last year that Officer Diebold was "whooping and giving high-fives" after her daughter was born. She adds, "He just couldn't stop smiling and was telling us that we just 'made his month.' It was such a wild, weird, and wonderful experience."
To commemorate their daughter's miraculous birth, they asked Diebold if they could use his badge and police shirt for her birth pictures.
He enthusiastically agreed, and the family has since developed a unique friendship with the officer. The Hall children (there are two, including Evelyn) even call him "Uncle Mark."
For Evelyn's first birthday, the Halls asked Diebold if he'd pose in a tea party–themed photo shoot with their daughter.
The pics were posted by photographer Cyndi Williams on Facebook, where they quickly went viral.
Clearly, this "tough guy" police officer has a heart of gold.

The family says their relationship with Officer Diebold has changed their lives forever.
As Destiny Hall recently told ABC News, "Mark Diebold, without a doubt, is one of the most genuine, loving, thoughtful, and caring [people] we have ever met. He is quick to think of others and we are so blessed to call him friend and family."
