Heart-Stopping Video on Texting & Driving Is a Wake-Up Call for Multitasking Moms

at&t adThe new AT&T ad "It Can Wait" is driving home the dangers of texting while driving in a graphic, gut-wrenching way: by showing how one mom's social media post leads to a horrific car crash.

Directed by Anonymous Content's Frederic Planchon, this ad weaves together the lives of six different characters, including a mom who is driving with a toddler in her backseat and who, at one point, glances down at her phone as it beeps.

And the rest ... well ... check it out below. Rest assured this video is not for the faint of heart.

More from The Stir: Moms Admit to Texting & Driving With Babies: Are They Nuts?

While everyone knows they shouldn't text and drive, this ad drives that point home in a whole new way. It's not just the graphic nature of the car crash. It's also how these characters seem so lifelike, so we can easily see ourselves in their shoes.

Think about it: How many times have you placed your tot in the backseat and your phone in the front, then glanced down at it when it beeped? All it takes is one split second like this for your entire life to come undone.

And that's why this is a public service announcement we all need to see: Because as much as we know we shouldn't text and drive, many still do it. In fact, I was in a car the other day with a mom and our daughters in the backseat and she was grabbing her phone left and right ... I wonder if sending her this video might set her straight.
