Popular Crib Recalled: Is Your Baby Sleeping In One?

Talk about a disturbing wake-up call: Bexco, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has recalled their DaVinci cribs, saying they pose a hazard to babies.

The reason? They say that a metal bracket under the crib can break. This can lead to a gap that puts babies at risk for entrapment, as well as falls and lacerations.

In other words, this is not where you want your baby to sleep!

So far, over 11,000 of these cribs were sold in stores nationwide and online from May 2012 to December 2013. The company has received 10 reports of the mattress brackets breaking, although they've resulted in no injuries.

So what should a mom do if she's got one of these cribs? For starters, stop using it and find another place for baby to sleep. You should also contact Bexco at (888) 673-6652 or at DaVinci Safety Recall

From there, the company will send you free replacement parts that will keep the mattress in place and make the crib safe for sleeping.
