Here's Why Everyone You Know Is Suddenly Pregnant

Feel like everywhere you look, you see pregnant women left and right? It's not just your imagination: According to the CDC, after a seven-year decline, U.S. birth rates are up!

From 2013 to 2014, birth rates in our country jumped one percent to 3.98 million births. In particular, older moms are responsible for this uptick, with births among women in their 30s and 40s up three and two percent, respectively.

So what's driving this mini baby boom? Researchers theorize it has to do with the end of the recession (at least we sure hope so). A healthier economy and stable paychecks get people thinking, "Hey, now seems like a safe time to have kids!"

I hafta say, it's nice to think that moms aren't just popping out kids without first thinking, "Hmmm, how am I going to pay for daycare, diapers, college, and beyond?" Hats off to moms who hold off until the time is right!
