Mom Wears Her Baby While Pole Dancing: Now That's Committed 'Attachment Parenting' (VIDEO)

One of my favorite attachment parenting mamas has a new video and it's not to be missed. She's Ashley Wright (aka Ms. Wright), who describes herself as a "badass breastfeeding, babywearing, attachment parenting, pole dancing, Yogi Momma" and this time she's pole dancing while babywearing her 2-year-old daughter. Yes, you read that correctly.

Her moves are poetic and inspiring, and will probably be met with criticism because that's exactly what all AP parents are met with at some point. I'm just going to see the beauty in this. The strength in this. The incredible ability of a mother in this. Her dance is symbolic -- there are times we, as mothers, hold the weight of our children. We show strength we didn't realize we had. We do what may seem the impossible with just one hand. The "weight" of our children isn't a burden, but instead makes us stronger, more powerful, shows us we can do things we never thought possible.

That's the beauty I see.

More From The Stir: Mom Pole Dances to Bond With 2-Year-Old Daughter (VIDEO)

Ashley has done pole dances with her daughter next to her, but never with her. In this video, she says they simply "decided to do a routine together." I am so impressed with her core strength. I need a pole. I need to learn how to do this.

I love seeing her little girl spinning round and round while securely strapped on mama's back. The moves are gentle, the child is snug. Ashley clearly knows what she is doing. I see it as a form of meditation, a bonding, a beautiful dance. Attachment parenting in a whole new way. Inspiration.
