Parents Make 17-Month-Old Baby Run on Treadmill (VIDEO)

A disturbing video of a 17-month-old toddler running on a treadmill in China has recently appeared on YouTube, and it's gotten lots of viewers hot under the collar. And for good reason: the dad barks "Hurry up!" then turns up the speed, while some ladies in the background laugh. Er, this is so not funny!

Take a look and you'll see what we mean:

Okay, so even if this may seem like innocent fun to this family in China, the fact remains that in the US, one study has shown that home exercise equipment injures 8,700 kids every year -- and treadmills are particularly dangerous to kids under the age of 5. Kids can either fall or get their limbs trapped under the sliding belt, resulting in skin burns that require grafts, even fractures and amputations.

And even if this toddler does survive the time his parents put him on the treadmill, I worry about him. Really. Because if his Tiger Dad is this much of a whip cracker now, what will he force his son to do in the future? Get straight A's, then go to med school, then finish at the top of his class?

I hope someone tells these parents to lay off their poor kid.

What do you think of this video?
