Tarting Up Toddlers to Look Like Red Carpet Celebs Is Not 'Art' (VIDEO)

toddlewoodSigh. I don't want to be creeped out by Toddlewood, the photography project which recreates high profile Hollywood moments ... with toddlers. It's borderline cute, as opposed to, say, Toddlers & Tiaras, which is just a horror show from start to finish. But there's still something about it that bothers me.

Take this latest Toddlewood project, a miniature version of the 2012 Golden Globes red carpet experience.

How can I put this? Some of us weren't ready to see that dress on the adult-sized Angelina Jolie. On a little girl (paired up with a teeny Brad Pitt lookalike sporting drawn-on scruff)?

I definitely wasn't ready for that.

These kids give me the same feeling I get when I see Mason Disick, sort of. Adorable, innocent, perfectly blank slates ... in a scandal-ridden setting. One of these things is not like the other, you know?

I just want to pluck them off that carpet and take them to the playground. Maybe we could go out for ice cream afterwards.

Of course it's possible that the tots of Toddlewood are having a blast and I'm weirdly uncomfortable with the juxtaposition for no good reason. Where do we draw the line between exploitative (Toddlers & Tiaras) and endearingly cute?

What do you think of Toddlewood?
