Kids Seem to Get Bin Laden's Death Better Than Us (VIDEO)

With only a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old at home, I perhaps got off easy when it came to the death of Osama bin Laden. There was no agonizing or hand wringing over how to best tell them this complicated news. I simply didn't mention it at all.

Maybe it's bad parenting, but honestly, I just didn't see why two children under 5 even needed to know about his death. It turns out, it may have been easier to explain than I worried. This YouTube video shows a number of kids who seem to be between the ages of 7 and 14, and honestly, they seem to get it better than us.

See for yourself:

For kids, all the stress over how to explain complicated things isn't all that complicated. Their worlds are simpler.

These kids aren't really stressing. He was bad. Now he is dead. The end. It was cute how they tried to understand some of the more complicated issues, but generally speaking, they seemed to get it in a way that the grown-ups don't. I'm still not going to tell my kids about the situation, but it does give me hope that all the stressing over HOW to tell them scary things may be useless in some cases.

Did you tell your kid about bin Laden?
