Movies Out This Weekend: January 8th

Every Friday, I will be bringing you the movies that are being released that day. Here are the movies being released nationwide on Friday, January 8th:

Set in 2019, an unknown plague has transformed the world's population into vampires. As the human population nears extinction, vampires must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. However, a covert group of vampires makes a remarkable discovery, one which has the power to save the human race.

Leap Year

Adorable Amy Adams (who is due with her first child this spring) stars in this romantic comedy about a woman who, after her four-year anniversary passes with no marriage proposal, takes matters into her own hands by pursuing an Irish tradition that allows women to propose to men on February 29th. But along the way, she meets Declan and finds out that love can happen unexpectedly.

Youth in Revolt

Good guy Nick (Michael Cera) falls in love with the beautiful, free-spirited Sheeni (Portia Doubleday) while on a family vacation. With encouragement from Sheeni, Nick abandons his play-it-safe lifestyle, creating a rebellious alter ego for himself, in hopes of winning Sheeni's heart.

I think Leap Year looks pretty cute, but not sure if it'd be worth paying $12.50 to go see it in the theaters.
