'Hocus Pocus' Cast Teases a Sequel Might Be in the Works

It's been 26 years since Max Dennison lighted the Black Flame Candle, sparking an all-night battle with the resurrected Sanderson sisters. Hocus Pocus is a '90s cult classic we can't help but watch over and over (and over again) each year. It never gets old, which is why talks a Hocus Pocus sequel might be in the works is bewitching news.

  • Vinessa Shaw, who played Allison Watts in the film, shared a cast photo with a cryptic message that hints 'Hocus Pocus 2' might just be a reality.

"Oh [crystal ball], will there be a #2?...'Tis time!" she writes in her post. Pictured with Vinessa are Doug Jones (Billy Butcherson), Tobias Jelinek (Jay), Larry Bagby ("Ice"), and Omri Katz, who played Max Dennison.

The gang came together (not all but most) for Freeform's "31 Nights of Halloween Fan Fest," set to air at 8 p.m. ET October 5.

  • There have been talks of a 'Hocus Pocus' remake that didn't seem to come to fruition.

In 2017, reports surfaced a Hocus Pocus reboot was coming to the Disney Channel ... only it didn't (not that we saw) -- which is likely a good thing considering none of the original cast of Hocus Pocus was slated to join the project.

So yeah, we're happy a reboot didn't see the light of day.

  • A "promo" of a 'Hocus Pocus 2' movie has also been making the rounds over the years that's proven to be fake news.

As awesome as this Hocus Pocus 2 movie promo is, it's more fiction than fact. Still, the concept looked pretty cool. It was dope seeing Jason take Manhattan in the seventh Friday the 13th installment, so watching the Sanderson sisters tackle city life would likely be entertaining.

We can already picture Winnie and crew breaking into song on the subway next to break dancers and onlookers.

  • We'll keep our fingers crossed a 'Hocus Pocus' sequel is on the way.

In the meantime, Hocus Pocus will air 27 times during Freeform's "31 Nights of Halloween" lineup. The festivities kicked off at the beginning of the month, but there's definitely still time to get in on the action.
