Fans have been waiting so long for this! After a Downton Abbey movie was confirmed last year, we've been on the edge of our seats, waiting for updates. And now, a big one is finally here! The first trailer for the Downton Abbey movie has arrived.

It's really happening!

  • Earlier this week, the movie poster for Downton Abbey was released, so we knew something big was coming soon.

Even just this poster was enough to get fans excited, but it was only the beginning. Now, we have a full trailer, and it definitely seems like this movie will be worth the wait.

  • The newly released trailer starts off with a few familiar views, including a very iconic one.

It's been four years since we've seen a new episode of this show, and this is already a sight for sore eyes. It's enough to give us chills -- and the Downton Abbey trailer is only getting started.

  • The Crawleys are reunited, and it feels so good.

It's 1927, and they're "modern folk," y'all. It's time to get this party started.

Does anyone else feel like crying, or is it just us?

  • Then, Robert makes an announcement: The king and queen are coming to Downton.

Clearly, this means every inch of the house must be clean and perfect -- and there's no time to waste. If they're going to be welcoming royalty to Downton, it's time to take out the fancy china and make sure it's sparkling.

  • Mary knows she has to bring out the big guns for this, which means asking Charles Carson for help.

"I'll be there in the morning, my lady. Don't you worry," he promises her. And of course, he follows through -- and it seems as if a lot of the movie centers around the preparations everyone's making for the king and queen's visit.

  • In the meantime, it seems like the characters are facing some critical moments, including Mary, who's wondering if she should leave Downton.

Anna tries to convince her to stay, saying, "Downton Abbey's the heart of this community, and you're keeping it beating."

  • It all culminates in the arrival of the king and queen.

Although we don't get to see them in the trailer, it's clear that this is a huge moment -- they've never come to Downton before! And even though everyone needs to be on their best behavior, it appears this visit won't happen without a bit of banter between Violet and Isobel.

  • Needless to say, fans are really excited that this trailer has dropped.
