41 Horror Movies to Watch on Valentine's Day for People Tired of the Same Ol' Love Story

The candy aisles are stocked full of shiny red packaging and obnoxiously large boxes of chocolates. Every other commercial on TV appears to be about some sort of must-have jewelry, or shows a person receiving a giant diamond engagement ring from a man on one knee. And, of course, we're just waiting for all of those #datenight posts to begin flooding our Instagram feeds, complete with kissing couples, candlelit dinners, and emotional, paragraph-long captions.

Yep, it's Valentine's Day -- err, month? -- folks, which, as we're told, is the time to live and breathe a romantic comedy and perform some seriously grand gestures.
But, uh, what if we don't want to?

Not everyone celebrates February 14 the same way. Some might even skip it altogether. And while we've got a full list of breakup movies that are perfect for watching with a broken heart, we also know some gory alternatives to add to the list as well. Consider it a much-needed break from all those super cheesy dramas where the guy gets the girl and they all live happily ever after. Of course, there's still a bit of romance involved in these (mostly R-rated) options, but at the same time, there's blood -- and stalkers. (So many WTF moments.)

To each their own, right?

We're rounding up 41 horror films that are perfect for watching with a significant other or a friend --  or for those daring and bada** enough, alone. But maybe lock the doors first, because some of these are seriously freaky.
