Dakota Johnson Is Sick of People Judging Her for 'Fifty Shades of Grey'

Dakota Johnson burst onto the scene when she signed on to become Anastasia Steele, the lead female role in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, but that doesn't mean it hasn't had its downfalls. Most notably, the judgy people who maybe don't think she should be taken seriously as an actress after stripping down for the risqué role.

The 27-year-old recently graced the cover of Vogue Spain, and in her interview, she opened up on what it's like to deal with public scrutiny over the controversial role.

In case you've been living under a rock, Dakota plays a young 20-something virgin, who is seduced by billionaire businessman Christian Grey, who has a penchant for BDSM and is looking for a new submissive. There are a lot of steamy scenes, including a lot of simulated sex. Fans obviously think it's hot, but there are bound to be critics.

Dakota told the publication what it's been like dealing with judgment from people over her choice to take on this role. "It's like an incessant mosquito noise," she explained. "Very weird. People feeling the need not only to judge everyone all the time but also to pronounce themselves on it, it's extremely boring. A waste of energy and time."

Can we just take a minute and applaud her attitude about this for a minute? People are going to judge and hate on her, but how she handles it is up to her. It kind of takes the wind out the naysayers' sails though, when she claims the criticism is "boring," and "a waste of energy and time."

Haters are going to hate, but Dakota is just going to let that role right off of her. Now that's a strong female.
