While the harmony on "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," sounds oh so sweet to our ears, apparently what went on behind the scenes while recording the tune from the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack was anything but. Reports have it that Zayn Malik did not want to do the duet with Taylor Swift, and he's downright bitter about it.

According to reports, Malik wanted to record the song by himself, but was forced to do it with Taylor. A source told RadarOnline:

Zayn loved the song and wanted it for himself; he was desperate to record it as a solo track and thought it would be a real career boost. It has all of the high notes he can reach and was perfect, but movie bosses said it had to be a collaboration and wanted him to work with Taylor.

He supposedly gave in because his girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, is Taylor's BFF, and because Taylor Swift is ... well, Taylor Swift. He's still supposedly not happy about it though, as his fan base wasn't wowed by the tune.

Others are certainly wowed by it though, as it debuted at number six on the Billboard Hot 100, and gave each of them another stop 10 hit (the 20th for Swift and second for Zayn). So he shouldn't be too bitter about it. Besides, they sound great together!

We think it was the perfect song for the soundtrack, and would love to hear more of them together. And that just might happen. Despite this recent report, earlier reports said Zayn would love to join Taylor on tour. So, who knows? We say, bring it!
