You knew she was going to bring it, and bring it she did. On Monday night at the 2017 Met Gala, Dakota Johnson stunned on the red carpet in a Fifty Shades–inspired dress. While she -- and Gucci's Alessandro Michele -- might not say it's Fifty Shades–inspired, the deep black color and plunging neckline made it hard for us not to go there. Whatever you want to call it, it's impossible to argue with the fact that the woman looked stunning.

Dakota always goes a little outside the box with her red carpet style (which we love), and her Met Gala dress was no different. Talk about making a dramatic entrance.

It isn't easy to pull off, as Vogue's Maria Ward put it, "gothic and princess" at the same time, but Dakota manages it.

More from CafeMom:

Dakota has long been a fan of Gucci, so it's no surprise that she wore it to the event, but it is a little surprising to see her wear such an over-the-top and -- to speak in stereotypes -- girly dress. Dakota's killer style typically has a more understated, streamlined, and androgynous vibe (which we love). This was definitely a surprise.

Whether she's wearing jeans and a blouse, a ruffly dress, or bondage attire, Dakota always kills it. Not an easy task to pull off.

Bravo.
