This Trailer for Halle Berry's Film 'Kidnap' Is Every Mom's Worst Nightmare IRL

Halle Berry in the movie

If you're a parent and have yet to see the trailer for Halle Berry's new movie Kidnap, just wait. It's a roller coaster ride of emotions as you watch a mother (Berry) desperately try to save her son after he's been abducted. To say this clip is nerve-racking would be putting it lightly. It's alarming and just another reason why I try to never take my eyes off my kids at the playground.

Those who thought Liam Neeson was a badass parent in Taken need to see Ms. Berry in action. Mom plays no games in this film and can whip her minivan into high speed better than Vin Diesel, Mr. Fast and Furious himself.

As Halle's character says in the trailer, "You took the wrong kid."

Every parent I spoke to about this trailer had the same reaction as I do:

Oh, hell, no!

I know, I know, this is just a movie ... but unthinkable events like this can and sadly do happen to families in real life. This is one of the many reasons I stand next to my kids while they're on the jungle gym -- and train myself to run up to 12 mph for long distances. (Okay, so I run for other reasons, but it might come in handy one day.)

You just never know when a fool is going to try to come after your child.

It's so eerie to think about anyone preying on small children like this, especially with parents so close. This makes me think about how many sick people there are strolling around local parks -- possibly watching me watch my kids.

One minute you could be playing a harmless game of Marco Polo (like Halle in the movie), and the next, jumping on the side of a child abductor's car to free your precious little one.

Ugh, chills!

The more I watch this trailer for Kidnap, the more angry and pissed off I get when I think about how many faces I see on missing posters, and whether or not they'll ever see their parents again. It's so frightening to think of all the "what if" scenarios like this that can happen -- even to the most vigilant parents.

As a mother, all I want is to love, provide for, and protect my children from harm of any kind. There are times when I can't help but question whether I'm doing enough or too little.

I'll tell you one thing, I would've been on mama bear attack mode just like Halle if someone tried to take one of my kiddos.
