'Fifty Shades Darker' Filming Resumes as Planned After Attack in Nice

jamie dornanThe deadly attack in Nice, France, during the Bastille Day celebration has the world on edge -- and it was where the cast and crew of Fifty Shades Darker had been filming earlier that day. Horrified and shaken, they took a break as a result, though filming has now resumed and it's a testament to the strength of peace and how good must prevail.

The film's stars, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, are now in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France, for filming at a medieval castle. Sounds incredible. It was reported that our Anastasia Steele was wearing a red sundress with flip-flops along with large sunnies. Très French. Mr. Christian Grey was outfitted in a white polo and navy pants with gray sneakers. Très Christian.

The act of terror in France made us fear the worst. It was Fifty Shades' producer Dana Brunetti who alerted us that everyone involved in the filming was accounted for and safe after the Bastille Day attack. They had been filming in Nice just hours before the deadly incident. Our hearts are broken over this news and our thoughts are with the families.

These attacks are meant to incite terror, and while we must all remain vigilant, we must also stand up to it. We stand with France, and for peace. Shutting down filming there could never be the answer. And so the cast and crew were back at it after more than a week there filming in some of the country's most beautiful locations. Jamie and Dakota were in the French Riviera on jet skis and lounging in cabanas for some key scenes. And we look forward to this castle scene as well. And as always, peace.
