Over it.
"Well, we’re not having actual sex," Dakota said, "but I've been simulating sex for seven hours straight right now, and I'm over it."
Comedy.
"We're trying to figure out all the best ways to level out the emotional aspects of the story, as well as the comedic notes. Hopefully these films will be funny -- that's what I appreciate about them," Dakota said. A comedy? Oh yes!
Literally.
To Elle magazine on her role as Ana in Fifty Shades of Grey, Dakota said, "if you can’t laugh during a movie like that, you’re f*cked. Literally."
The Dornan D.
On Jamie Dornan, Dakota said, "Yeah, I'm going to make him get fully naked in the next one. Everybody wants to see the D. Yeah, the Dornan D! We should start a movement. A campaign."

Comfort level.
"It's never comfortable to do scenes like that," Dakota has said, adding how it's not in a private setting.
Being Ana.
On being cast as Ana in Fifty, Johnson told Vogue: "It’s just the most insane thing to be a part of. I’ve never experienced anything like this; I don’t think anyone has. It’s terrifying—and it’s exciting."
In the Red Room.
When talking about filming in the Red Room, Dakota said, "There’s a scene in which Christian uses a flogger on Anastasia. Filming a sex scene is not a sensual or pleasurable environment. It’s really hot — not in a steamy, sexual way. It’s just sweaty and it’s not very comfortable. And on top of that, my hands and legs were tied, and I was blindfolded, and I was being hit with this bizarre tool."
On filming for hours.
Filming Fifty Shades takes time -- including all the sex scenes. On filming the naughty parts, Dakota said: "It was emotionally taxing. At first I was like,'Oh my God, this is the worst thing ever,' and then I was like, 'All right, let’s get on with it.'"

On getting naked.
On nude scenes, Dakota said, "I think the human body is so sexy, and if I'm going to be naked, I want to look great."
Crazy things.
Dakota talked about the first time she saw the Red Room: "There are some crazy things in there, like certain chairs for certain positions. One of them was this tiny little leather chair that looks like that thing when you go to the gynecologist and put your feet up. I never saw the Red Room until the scene where you see me see it for the first time in the movie."
On getting a new director.
On getting a new director in James Foley, Dakota said: "There was a moment of being afraid, because I didn’t know what it was going to be like. I had an experience with Sam [Taylor-Johnson] and then that all went away. Now I’m excited. I think James is a talented filmmaker. How often do you get to reconvene with the same people and have a different spin?"
She feels Ana helped her career.
"I don't need to distance myself from [Fifty Shades of Grey]," Dakota has said of her role as Ana. "The more work I do, the more the general public sees the different things I can do. Do I think it opened doors? Yeah. More people know my name."

Regarding those sex scenes and people's opinions ...
Dakota shared a strange conversation she had with a cab driver regarding the sex scenes in Fifty Shades of Grey:
"Well, sometimes people just say things that are a little bit awkward for me. Like, I was in a cab recently, and the driver was like, ‘You know, my wife and I, we saw your film. We really liked it.’ And he goes, ‘I thought there could be more sex.’ And I was, like, about to roll out of the car while it was driving."
Because it's a love story.
On the story of Christian and Ana in Fifty Shades, Dakota said: "I just really understand it. I think it's an incredible love story and that's why it's affected so many people. Erika (EL James) did a really good job of explaining how that just can happen sometimes and you have this chemical pull to someone. Adding in the sex makes it perfect. Sometimes you feel a little bit naughty and that's okay."
The book captured her.
When she read the book, Dakota said, "I found myself more interested in the ways they were breaking each other down emotionally than the sex scenes. I think there's a part of a woman that wants to be the thing that breaks a man down."
