Dakota Johnson Accepts People's Choice Award in True 'Fifty Shades' Fashion (VIDEO)

The star of Fifty Shades of Grey was honored at the People's Choice Awards with an award for best dramatic actress, but proved she's also a master of comedy. Dakota Johnson suffered a wardrobe malfunction while giving her acceptance speech, but responded with the funniest comeback ever.

The 26-year-old actress was presented the award by friends and How to Be Single co-stars Leslie Mann and Alison Brie, who were both eager to give their pal big hugs on stage. The only problem was that Dakota's glam silvery Armani Prive Couture two-piece gown, which featured a crop top, began to come undone, possibly because Leslie was showing her a little too much love.

"Leslie just broke my dress," Dakota joked to the audience, while holding herself together so that she didn't spill out of her top. Then she added: "It's not like everybody here hasn't already seen my boobs" -- obviously referring to her controversial star turn as Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades.

Dakota gets through the wardrobe malfunction like a champ -- and doesn't even break a sweat:

Dakota then focused on what was truly important and gave thanks to those around her who helped her achieve enormous success:

Thank you so much, to the fans. This is really insane. I was just excited to even be nominated. You guys have completely rocked my world and changed my life. I am so incredibly grateful. Thank you for supporting our movie. Thank you to everyone at Universal, Sam Taylor-Johnson, EL James, Jamie Dornan. I couldn't have done it without you. That's it. I don't know. Bye. Thank you!

Dakota beat some stiff competition for the award: Rachel McAdams for her work in Spotlight, Kate Winslet in Steve Jobs, Blake Lively in Age of Adaline, and Jennifer Lopez in The Boy Next Door. As great as it is to see her honored for her hard work, it's even more awesome to know you can throw anything at the celeb -- even a potentially awkward and embarrassing wardrobe malfunction -- and she slays anyway.
