'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot' Trailer Stars Tina Fey Like We've Never Seen Her (VIDEO)

tina feyWe'd happily watch the brilliantly talented Tina Fey read the phone book for a couple of hours, so the fact that she's starring in (yet another) new movie is cause for celebration -- especially since this one looks really, really good: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is the true story of a reporter who takes a dangerous assignment in Afghanistan to escape her boring desk job (and even more boring boyfriend) back home.

Sounds like a role with plenty of fish-out-of-water comedic potential, right? Except it also looks like a great opportunity for Fey to flex her dramatic actress muscles, too, not to mention some serious action star skills: Political intrigue! Human rights! Machine guns! Based on Kim Barker's 2011 memoir The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan, this movie definitely showcases a side of Fey we've never seen before (plus a few sides of Tina we have seen before, like the funny one and the feminist one). Excited yet? Making the film even more appealing is Fey's amazing supporting cast (Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, and Margot Robbie, to name just a few of the other incredible actors involved). Sadly, the movie won't hit theaters until March 4, but at least we can go see Fey's other new movie, Sisters, in the meantime (with Amy Poehler!). And of course we can always binge-watch old episodes of 30 Rock if we get really desperate for a Fey fix.

Does anybody else smell a Best Actress nomination?
