'Fifty Shades Darker' May Have Found Its Leila in Kendall Jenner

One of our favorite pastimes involves imagining which actors and actresses would be a perfect fit for juicy roles in Fifty Shades Darker -- but never in our wildest dreams would most of us have attached a Kardashian/Jenner to the raunchy project. That's about to change: Kendall Jenner is reportedly being considered for Leila Williams in the Fifty Shades sequel.

There has been a great deal of secrecy surrounding the casting of the second film in the trilogy. The last time we heard from the film's producer, a casting director had yet to be hired for the project, though we imagine that mustn't still be the case considering how the movie is set to be released in February 2017. The character of Leila Williams is an important one -- she's Christian Grey's former lover and submissive partner -- and a young woman who comes out of the relationship rather damaged. Several names have been thrown in the ring as possible Leila contenders — among them: Lucy Hale, Alexis Bledel, and even model (and Kendall's BFF) Cara Delevingne.

Here's one more: Kendall Jenner.

What?! Yep, it's true. The 20-year-old supermodel, who is really just beginning her extremely successful modeling career, was reportedly former director Sam Taylor-Johnson's first choice as Leila, but new director James Foley apparently doesn't share her enthusiasm for the famous sibling, mainly because she has zero acting credits to her name -- an understandable concern. Kendall was reportedly only being considered because she has proven, through her photographs, that she can be sexy and erotic when necessary.

Lucy, who already auditioned for Fifty Shades Grey and said the experience was awkward, may now be ready to take on the meaty role of Leila. Looks-wise, she's ideal, but more importantly, the Pretty Little Liars star can act. As gorgeous as Kendall is, I can't imagine casting a totally inexperienced actress in a role that requires depth and sensitivity. Does Kendall even have acting aspirations?

I'm rooting for Lucy -- but that's only if Alexis Bledel decides she has zero interest in the project. In my opinion, the Gilmore Girls actress possesses the perfect balance of innocence, beauty, and talent to pull off a convincing Leila.
