New 'Fifty Shades' Filming Schedule Might Mean Both Sequels Are Just Around the Corner

If you're completely bummed by the fact that we have to wait until 2017 to see Fifty Shades Darker and then wait even longer for Fifty Shades Freed, raise your hand. Well, here's some good news: The third flick shouldn't take as long to hit theaters, because supposedly both Fifty Shades sequels will be filmed in tandem.

According to Showbiz 411, the second and third flicks will be filmed together (or one right after the other) in a cost-saving measure on the part of the movie studio. It's also assumed that James Foley will direct both movies.

In theory, this should mean we won't have to wait an extra year between the second and third films if they are being produced practically simultaneously, right? I mean, the biggest problem with getting production going on Darker is scheduling conflicts among the cast and getting the crew on board, but once all that's settled, shouldn't they be able to get the ball rolling on both movies?

I, for one, do not want it to be 2018 before we see Fifty Shades Freed, so I consider this news a beacon of hope. (We have to take what we can get, people.)
