Winona Ryder Confirms 'Beetlejuice' Sequel Is Definitely Not Dead (VIDEO)

Winona Ryder NYCBeetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice! Can anyone else remember saying this in a dark room with hopes that Michael Keaton would appear? Fans of the 1988 cult classic might now get their wish, as actress Winona Ryder recently shared news of a Beetlejuice sequel in the works.

Go ahead, make my millennium!

"I think I can confirm it, because Tim Burton did this interview," Winona said on Late Night with Seth Meyers of not wanting to divulge any "hush-hush, top secret" information. "I mean, if he said it, I can."

The 43-year-old actress has kept busy over the years with various roles in films like Star Trek and The Dilemma. However, nothing will ever compare to her role as Lydia Deetz in the Tim Burton fantasy (maybe her role in Edward Scissorhands, but that's a close second) that had a pretty stellar list of actors like Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, and Geena Davis.

With everyone being pretty tight-lipped about the Beetlejuice sequel, folks -- including Ryder herself -- are looking for more details. "I really don't know much more than anybody else," she adds.

It's OK if you want to get giddy with me about this. I love that movie. It's not every day you think about that "what if" scenario involving dead people who never left their home, a new family trying to move in, and some creepy guy that loves making everyone else miserable. Beetlejuice did a very good job of creeping you out, making you scared, and giving you laughs along the way.

So many people have love for Beetlejuice that they let it affect their jobs. During the same interview with Seth Myers, Winona shares how sometimes the TSA officials won't even let her get through airport security without uttering that infamous, three-word phrase. "I'd rather say Beetlejuice three times than go through the stuff that I've gone through at TSA," jokes Seth.

Who knows what we can expect to see in the second movie. An IMDb page titled Beetlejuice 2 has been created and mentions a plot that follows Beetlejuice's older cousin, Beetle Bernie. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how things will unfold.

Let's turn on the juice and see what shakes loose!
