'Fifty Shades' Audition Process Exposed by Actor Who Wanted to Play Christian

Ryan PaeveyThough we've already seen Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson take on the infamous roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey, one actor is coming clean about what the audition process for the steamy movie was really like.

Ryan Paevey, who you may easily recognize from his role on General Hospital, also auditioned for the role of the mercurial character. And when he appeared as a co-host on The View this week, he dished on the rather, ahem, R-rated audition process.

Unfortunately (let's be honest, we're all a little disappointed), all actors arrived fully clothed. So even though Christian and Ana spend plenty of time in the movie sans-cover-ups, the audition starts off very appropriately.

And as soon as you sit down in the room, the first thing you do is look for your match. Christians, meet your Anas. "You sit in a long line in a hallway with a bunch of strangers," Paevey says. "Everybody knowing that one of us is going to molest one of us." Fear not, "molest" here means "go in the Red Room of Pain."

But we do quickly get R-rated (#celebration). As soon as he meets his audition Ana, "she says something about how she wants to introduce herself to me," Paevey adds, and the clothes come of. "But I didn't do it," he says. "She does it."

Well, might as well start off early, no? It's no secret that the movie contains plenty of nudity and erotic scenes, so there's no room for shyness here.

But while Paevey was obviously not cast as the sexy billionaire, this news is MAJOR. Just imagine: Jamie Dornan walks into the audition room. Sees Dakota Johnson will be his audition partner. The two quickly chat, and immediately, the clothes come off.

And Sam Taylor-Johnson clearly approved. Looks like a brilliant (and seXXXy) audition tactic right here.

Applause for the whole crew.
