Well, the results are in. One of the year's most highly-anticipated films, Fifty Shades of Grey, opened on Valentine's Day weekend and my god did it make boatloads of cashola. You won't believe how much money Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele managed to rake in!

EL James' kinky erotic tale took the number one spot this weekend, making $81.7 million. The flick also made an additional $158 million overseas, making the grand total $240 million. That's a lot of sick puppies out there!

It isn't known if the revenue generated exceeded or was less than what movie executives were expecting. Being that they've already signed on for two sequels -- Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed -- they had high hopes. But, sheesh -- $240 million is damn impressive. The number two film at the U.S. box office -- Kingsman: The Secret Service -- was a much distant second, only taking in $35.6 million.

Reviews on Fifty Shades have been mixed by both critics and audiences, but clearly everyone is a little curious. The film was the highest-grossing movie ever on Valentine's Day weekend -- which, let's be honest, isn't too surprising. Also, it was the second-highest February film debut, coming in behind The Passion of the Christ. #irony

Congrats to Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, and the rest of the Fifty Shades crew. Single, attached, whatever -- it sounds like they made a lot of people's Valentines Day.
