Spicy New Details About '50 Shades' Sequel Have Been Revealed

The film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey is still about seven months away from being released, but that isn't -- reportedly -- stopping Universal Studios from getting ready for the next installment, Fifty Shades Darker.

Universal Studios is wisely betting that the highly anticipated movie about Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey's spicy romance will be huge.

How much of a safe bet is this? Let's look at the numbers. According to The Tracking Board, the film will cost $40 million to produce. If just 11 percent of the people who bought the book (which sold 70 million copies) go to see the movie, the studio will make approximately $60 million, which is a profit of $20 million, deeming the project a success. If I were a betting woman, I would SO put money on the odds that it will make WAY more than $60 million.

Apparently the cast hasn't "officially" signed on to the follow-up yet, and there isn't any word if director Sam Taylor-Johnson will be on board, but the producers and the executive producer will remain attached.

What do we know about Fifty Shades Darker?

The film will focus on Anastasia breaking things off with the tormented Christian. While Anastasia attempts to break free and to focus on her career at a Seattle publishing house, the lure of Christian is far too seductive to ignore. She accepts his new "arrangement," and the steaminess continues. We'll also meet "philanderer" Jack Hyde, the editor who tries to blackmail Anastasia, Mrs. Robinson, the woman who seduced Christian when he was just 15 years old, and Leila Williams, one of Christian's former submissives. Is it hot in here, or it just us!

Which are you more excited for? Fifty Shades of Grey or Fifty Shades Darker?
