'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Trailer Will Blow You Away Then Leave You Hanging (VIDEO)

amazing spider man 2It seems like every other day there is gossip, castin rumors, or a new trailer regarding a superhero movie. Definitely not complaining, but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. We've got the Superman sequel, with a Batman cameo, the X-Men sequel, the Avengers sequel, a Justice League movie, The Flash, 800 movies with Wolverine, and of course we can't forget ol' Spider-Man. If you've been missing your nerdy dose of Peter Parker, Sony Pictures has just released the full trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The latest installment stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field. Jamie plays Spider-Man's latest villain, Electro, while Peter figures out how screwed up and corrupt OsCorp really is when his BFF Harry Osborn (Dane DeHann) returns.

You may be experiencing series-fatigue after so many Spider-Man movies, but this trailer is definitely worth checking out!

Here it is:

Lots of inner turmoil, lots of CGI, lots of villains, lots of car accidents -- you'd be hard-pressed to find a more action-packed 2 minutes and 40 seconds. The trailer gave away pretty much all the villains who will be making an appearance at some point in the franchise. The Green Goblin is back, along with the Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and the aforementioned Electro. Shots of Doctor Octopus's tentacles and Vulture's wings were also revealed in what's reportedly the post-credit teaser. If this is true, why would they put anything from the post-credit teaser in the trailer? Kind of interesting. #FirstWorldProblems

Anyway, the biggest spoiler has yet to be revealed. Most people who haven't even read the comics are (sort of) (kind of) aware that Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone) is killed by the Green Goblin. In the comics, she gets thrown off a bridge and her neck is accidentally snapped by Spidey's failed rescue attempt. Fans have been clamoring to see this translate on screen, and this one scene could be the impetus to get people to pay to check out this film. The first franchise starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane ignored that storyline, but since it's such an iconc part of Spider-Man's growth in the comics, we'll see if this is the film when director Marc Webb finally gives this moment is due. Can't wait to find out on May 2, 2014!

Would you see The Amazing Spider-Man 2? Think Gwen will kick the bucket in this sequel?
