John Stamos & 5 Other Old Fogies Ridiculously Tied to '50 Shades of Grey' Movie (PHOTOS)

John StamosPretty much all of Hollywood is buzzing about the Fifty Shades of Grey movie and who will be cast in the film's two leading roles, but some of the actors whose names are being dropped to play Christian Grey are really nothing short of ridiculous.

In the Fifty Shades of Grey book, Christian Grey is described as being incredibly handsome, with "unruly dark copper-colored hair & intense bright gray eyes." And in the words of Anastasia Steele, "If this guy is over thirty, then I'm a monkey's uncle."

Ok, we get it. Christian Grey is young -- so why are much older men being suggested to take on his role -- like 48-year-old John Stamos?

Yes, I said John Stamos. As in Uncle Jesse from Full House. (For real?!)

He's really hot and all, but he's way, way too old to be cast as Christian Grey. I mean, there are plenty of women who definitely wouldn't mind being his love slave, but I just can't see him romancing a naive, 20-something girl. And even though his co-star, Michael Rapaport, is insisting he's perfect for the role, even John admits thinking Ryan Gosling is a much better choice.

It almost seems like any actor who is remotely good looking is being considered for this part, regardless of their age or how well they fit the role. Take a look at the photos below to see 5 other ridiculously odd choices for the role of Christian Grey.

Do you think an older actor would work as Christian?

1Mark Wahlberg

Another slightly over-the-hill hunk whose name has been tossed around for the role is Mark Wahlberg, who did try to score the rights to the film. But when asked about playing Christian, he said, "I don't think I would consider playing the part, I don't think my wife would like that." At 41, he isn't the right age either.

3Mark Ruffalo

Mark Ruffalo, 44, is another ridiculous suggestion for Christian's role. He's just way too "guy-next-door" for the part.

4Christian Bale

At 38, Christian Bale could possibly pass in the age department, but he's way, way too creepy to be believable as Christian Grey.
