Elizabeth Banks Will Give 'Tink' Moxie (VIDEO)

averyWho here believes in fairies? Me? Not really -- but I believe Elizabeth Banks would rock some serious fairy dust as Tinker Bell. Oh somebody make this magic wish come true! Banks is the actress Tinker Bell has been waiting for her whole tiny fairy life. I can't imagine a better person to portray her.

Waaaay back in July of 2010, the rumor started floating around that Elizabeth was being considered to star in a film called Tink that would feature the "mischievous" aspect of Tinker Bell's character. And where did that idea go? Never Never Land, apparently. But Elizabeth brought the project up in a recent interview and it sounds like it may happen after all!

Here's what Elizabeth says about the project:

It's a live action Tinker Bell movie sort of in the vein of Elf in which I would play Tinker Bell. Tinker Bell gets thrown out of Never Never Land, and it’s about where she goes and who she meets and the adventures she has ... Tinker Bell is one of the greatest characters because she’s mischievous and snarky and fun and sexy and jealous and vengeful.

Pretty much everything Elizabeth Banks is as we've seen her in 30 Rock (where she plays the wickedly sharp-tongued conservative commentator Avery Jessup) and in Our Idiot Brother (where she plays the scheming, ambitious, but vulnerable magazine writer). Elizabeth would bring just the right edge to a role that could otherwise come out a little too cute. And she's got the elfish looks for the role, too. Watch her in action:

But are we ever going to see this movie? After telling us all about how cool Tink is going to be, Elizabeth says it's still in the script stage and "who knows, it might not even happen." WHAT?!? Okay, everyone -- Do you believe in Elizabeth Banks as a fairy? If you believe, clap your hands! I DO believe in Elizabeth Banks as Tinker Bell, I DO believe in Elizabeth Banks as Tinker Bell! Come on, give it a try everyone -- it might work!

Would you like to see Elizabeth Banks as Tinker Bell?
