Lea Michele in 'Dirty Dancing' Means Keeping Her Talents in the Corner

Lea Michele
Lea Michele is no BABY!
While tons of Dirty Dancing fans are falling all over themselves to shut down the pure gall of even considering a movie remake of the famous love story, casting rumors are already beginning to fly. Some of the actors being discussed to play Johnny are Justin Timberlake, Zac Efron, Ryan Gosling, and DWTS's Derek Hough, while some of the actress names being tossed around to play Baby are Emma Stone, Miley Cyrus, and yes, a Glee favorite -- starlet Lea Michele.

Let me first say, all those casting ideas -- besides Ryan Gosling basically because I'd pay money to watch him warm soup on the stove -- are completely crappy, completely wrong wrong wrong casting ideas. Have people with ideas like these actually seen Dirty Dancing?!!! And especially the choice of our beloved Lea Michele! She is so far from being Baby, it's not even funny.

Obviously, my objection has nothing to do with talent, as Lea Michele is one talented woman. She can sing with the beauty of a golden sunrise and even do a little dancing too. Of course, this off-base casting choice is more about character or essence or energy or something a little more out there than pure talent and performance abilities. And let's just say there is NO WAY Lea Michele could keep her big talents in the corner as quiet and demure Baby.

While Lea Michele has that unconventional Baby-esque beauty, she is nothing if not a bold, stage-stealing, Broadway stunner. Her voice and her presence are HUGE, which is so not Baby. Even when she's acting shy and nervous on Glee, she commands the camera. Look at me! It's not a bad thing. It's just her thing.

In fact, if we MUST do a Dirty Dancing remake and we MUST have a Gleek in the role of Baby, then I think Dianna Agron would be a much much better pick.

Do you think Lea Michele could play Baby in the new Dirty Dancing? If not, then who?
